Kate Tylee Herz will provide an update on rulemaking, voluntary plans, and what you should be doing now to prepare for the implementation of the law.

Sexual Harassment

The New Landscape and Strategies for Success in the Workplace

Mary Sanden will provide a timely overview of sexual harassment in the workplace, including how to identify and address complaints and avoid legal claims. 

Mary will use interactive examples and workplace scenarios to help participants better understand how these issues may arise and what legal obligations employers have to address harassment in the workplace.


Speakers:

Kate Tylee Herz, Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, advises employers on all aspects of the employment relationship. She regularly provides trainings for managers and employees regarding respectful workplaces, leave and accommodation issues, transgender issues and diversity, and performance management. 

Kate has significant experience conducting workplace investigations and representing clients in federal and state courts against allegations of discrimination, hostile work environment, sexual harassment, wage and commission disputes, wrongful termination, retaliation, and claims under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title VII, and Washington Law Against Discrimination (WLAD).

Mary Sanden, Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, concentrates her practice on employment law.  She represents employers in a wide range of matters, including wage and hour disputes, leaves of absence, workforce terminations, and harassment and discrimination claims.  As a member of Davis Wright Tremaine’s Sexual Harassment Task Force, Mary closely follows the laws and issues on the topic and prepares training programs and presentations for clients.  Mary speaks at seminars on sexual harassment and other issues.
