ACA - Reporting, Compliance and Helpful Tips for Year 2 and Beyond

1 CE has been approved by the WAOIC for this program

As a leading Affordable Care Act service provider with a large portfolio of clients from varying industries, Ernst & Young (EY) has learned many valuable lessons by navigating through the first effective year of the ACA Employer Mandate and IRS reporting requirements. During this session, Tom Bernard, the Pacific Northwest Leader of EY's Affordable Care Act team, will share insights and thoughts to better prepare for year two and beyond.

As with any legislation, the ACA world is complex and ever changing. What are some things employers can do from both a plan design perspective and an internal audit perspective to better ensure compliance with this requirement? EY will provide a concise overview of upcoming changes that will impact large employers and will share ideas for potential audit areas to ensure compliance with this change and other aspects of the ACA.

Attendees of this session will benefit from EY's experience in year one and a comprehensive look into the immediate future of ACA with insightful tips for thorough reporting and mitigating risk of excise tax penalties through proper planning and communication.

  • Applying year one lessons learned to upcoming ACA reporting periods

  • Highlights of compliance changes for year two and potential audits to ensure compliance

  • Navigating ACA Healthcare Marketplace communication to mitigate risk of 4980(h) penalties

Presenter Thomas Bernard, Executive Director, Ernst & Young, is the National Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Affordable Care Act Practice and the West Region Leader of EY's Workforce Services. The Workforce Services practice focuses on delivering services related to the Affordable Care Act, Employer Tax Credits, Unemployment Claims and Employment Tax Advisory.
