Nuts & Bolts of ACA Reporting: Forms 1094 and 1095

1 CE has been approved by the WAOIC for this program

Many employers will be distributing Affordable Care Act reporting forms to their employees and filing them with the IRS in early 2016. Now is the time to address some of those sticky questions or get moving if you have been hoping (or pretending) this deadline will disappear. We will review Forms 1094-C and 1095-C and cover basic checklist items, including:

  • Have you identified your controlled group?

  • Who are your common law employees?

  • What information do you need from your multiemployer plans?

  • What information do you need from other vendors, like third-party health plan administrators, COBRA administrators and disability insurers?

  • For those of you outsourcing your work, do you have a signed agreement with your vendor and have you considered whether you need a Business Associate Agreement?

Please join this session to examine the Affordable Care Act's reporting legislation and its potential impact.

Holly Fistler, presenter of this month's program, is an attorney in Dorsey & Whitney's Benefits & Compensation Group. Holly advises clients on ERISA, tax and related issues affecting qualified retirement plans, non-qualified retirement plans, and health and welfare plans. She regularly assists clients with plan documents and administration, as well as with navigating compliance with the Affordable Care Act, HIPAA and other changing laws in this field. She devotes a substantial portion of her practice to advising public and private companies on their employee benefits issues.

Seattle Pilot Program SURVEY

We are attempting to bring the costs of the Seattle luncheon meeting in line with the Bellevue breakfast meeting. As such we are exploring alternatives.

If you regularly attend the Seattle meetings and attended the September meeting at K&L Gates we would like to hear from you. Even if you didn't attended the September meeting we would still like to hear from you.
