The landscape of Retirement Income Products and Defined Contribution Plans

Elizabeth will review the variety of Retirement Income products and programs across the defined contribution industry. She will cover various approaches to delivering withdrawal/income strategies to DC participants from Guaranteed Income annuities to Systematic Withdrawal options as well as product and service approaches that may be delivered within the DC Plan, at the point of retirement and outside the plan. The discussion will also include review of discussions in Washington and the latest IRS rulings on QLAC options and potential implications for DC plan sponsors and providers.
Presenter Elizabeth L. Heffernan
Elizabeth L. Heffernan is a Vice President in Fidelity's Personal and Workplace Retirement's Consultant Relations Organization. She is responsible for workplace strategy and product development of various DC investment solutions, including Fixed Return/Stable Value products and the emerging topic of Retirement Income, including guarantees and structured income products and services. Elizabeth joined Fidelity in 1995. She has held positions in Sales, Marketing and Employee Education. Prior to joining Fidelity, Elizabeth worked in the employee benefits and compensation areas at Northwestern University and First Colonial Bankshares.
Elizabeth earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Iowa and holds NASD Series 6, 7, 63, and 24 licenses. She is a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist and a Certified Financial Planner.
